Hope, Arizona

In 1909 the Arizona Gazette noted that under the name of Johannesberg a new town had sprung into existence at this location. It was short-lived. When in 1920, the main highway changed its route from Vicksburg to bypass the location of old Johannesberg, merchants moved from Vicksburg to the new location and named it "Hope" to reflect their own wishes for renewed business.

Located in La Paz County, at the Junction of Hwy 60 & Hwy 72. Beautiful open-desert country, with spectacular mountain views, this small desert community consist of one RV Park, one gas station, one church and one antique store. You just have to smile when you drive thorough and wonder what these people are doing out in the middle of no where.

But the secret is that the RV Park is always full - and full of very happy campers, rockhounders, and off-road enthusiasts.
